Welcome, New UWRF Families

Hello, families and loved ones of our incoming Falcons! We are so happy to welcome you soon to the Falcon Family. Although your student is admitted, there are still a few tasks to complete to be ready to enroll in the fall. If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to check out the Admitted Student Checklist so you know what your student needs to do to successfully enroll. Before the semester begins, we have a few reminders and things to consider:

  • New Student Registration Friends and Family program. We highly recommend attending New Student Registration with your student and participating in the Friends and Family Program. During this program, you will hear from different departments and offices across campus and learn more about how to support and guide your student while they are at UWRF. We recognize the transition to college not only impacts your student. The purpose of this program is to help you and your family prepare for this transition as well.
  • Please reach out! Life happens and questions arise throughout the summer. New Student and Family Programs is here for you and your student, and if we cannot answer your question or assist you, we will direct you to the right office and/or staff member.
  • Follow us on social media. Follow UWRFNSFP on Facebook and @UWRFNSFP on Instagram for reminders, helpful articles, and updates for Move-In and Week of Welcome. These articles will also be promoted on our social media platforms, so you can stay up to date.
  • Check in with your student. Be sure to keep checking in on your student throughout the summer about if they’re logistically and emotionally ready for college. We also recommend having proactive conversations about how you plan on communicating during the school year too.

Before you know it, the summer will be over and the new academic year will be here. As you continue to make progess on preparing for school, be sure to enjoy this time with your student and soak it up before they head to campus!
