Ann E. Lawton is an artist, registered art therapist, and art educator.
As a mixed media artist, Ann uses the applications of drawing, painting and collage to document and process her daily life--from the meaningful to the mundane. Her art therapy work focuses on high-trauma impacted populations and has included incarcerated inmates, trafficked girls, domestic abuse survivors, and individuals coping with addiction.
Ann teaches a variety of foundational level art courses including design, drawing, and introduction to art therapy in the Art Department at UW-River Falls. She was awarded the 2018 College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching.
