Dr. Korenic's research interests are the optics and color science of liquid crystals. She is very interested in promoting scientific literacy at all educational levels through science outreach programs. Her research has been presented at conventions of the Inter-Society Color Council, the Materials Research Society, the Optical Society of America, and the International Liquid Crystal Society in Strasbourg where her thesis received a Glenn H. Brown prize for outstanding liquid crystal thesis. Before joining the UWRF faculty, Dr. Korenic worked as a colorimetry scientist at 3M in St. Paul where her work received a Circle of Technical Excellence award.
Her science outreach activities include publication of science articles for children, public presentations at the University of Rochester's Laboratory for Laser Energetics, pre-observatory talks, planetarium presentations, and public science presentations.
