Transition to Leadership Workshop

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Build leaders within your current staff so you can save time and money in employee recruitment and retain your outstanding performers. 

This workshop is ideal for those who need practical guidance, whether they are already in their new role or being prepared for a promotion. Participants will learn the differences between the role of an individual contributor and a front-line supervisor and apply principles for establishing appropriate boundaries. They will also clarify personal values, assess their level of emotional intelligence and make a plan for their own areas for development.

About the Instructor

Arlene AndersonArlene J. Anderson has over 25 years of leadership experience in a variety of settings, including education, health care, and light industry. She works with groups to create elegant solutions to “people” issues and build effective leadership teams. She gets her points across in a practical yet entertaining manner.

Arlene possesses a Master of Science in Psychology, specializing in Organization Development and Adult Learning.  She is based in the Twin Cities.

Registration Details

All participants need to register; walk-ins will be accomodated only if space is available. Fee includes the presentation, lunch, workbook, feedback from instructor and networking with peers. Parking at the UWRF Hudson Center is free. View maps and directions here.

Register before September 20, 2017 and save $20 off the $149 registration fee.

Marketing Strategy Workshop

Date to be determined in February 2018
8:30 a.m. check in, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This hands-on workshop will guide you in building a marketing strategy that is critically important for your business or organization. A strategy can help you to focus your efforts, budget time and expense, and measure results. Activities include identifying your marketing goals, developing a story that fits your audience, selecting the right marketing activities, and setting a marketing calendar. You will leave with a strategy measureable and effective and ready to put in action.

This workshop is a precursor to the Social Media Strategy workshop which will be held in 2018. Participants are not required to attend this wokrshop first but will gain more benefit out of both if they do so.

About the Instructor

Amy KlousWith nearly 20 years of experience in marketing, workshop facilitator Amy Klous specializes in marketing training. She has worked with a diverse range of learners through her marketing consulting business, The Amylia Group, and in her role instructing university and technical college courses.  Amy especially enjoys helping overwhelmed small businesses to feel comfortable with marketing.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and her MBA at UW-River Falls.
