Bloomberg Certification - This initiative will provide hands-on, on-going training/support for students and faculty seeking proficiency with UWRF's new Bloomberg terminal by hiring an upper-level student, who has become Bloomberg-certified, to be available on an as-needed basis, six to ten hours per week. CBE recently acquired a Bloomberg terminal as a result of a generous alumni gift. This state-of-the-art financial software provides professionals in finance and other industries access to Bloomberg Professional Service, through which users access real-time financial news for all market sectors, price quotes, multimedia reports, analytics and trading capabilities.
Student Centered 3D Printing - This initiative will establish a central campus spot for one or more 3D printers (number of printers will depend on the availability of strategic planning funds and outside gifts). Personnel from DOTS would receive training on operating the 3D printers, and then would provide training for up 20 students who would be 3D Printer Mentors (3DPMs). The 3DPMs would be selected from multiple disciplines, and would each commit to completing the training and developing proficiency. The 3DPMs would each provide forty hours of support for UWRF students or staff who have 3D printing needs during the 2015-16 academic year.
