The mission of the Office of Human Resources is to support the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as a comprehensive university. Our goal is to assist staff as we support the mission of the university to help prepare students to be productive, creative, ethical, engaged citizens and leaders with an informed global perspective. Proposed Pay Plan

As required by the State of Wisconsin, the pay plan included in the 2017-2019 state budget must be formally approved by the Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCOER). In anticipation of that approval, we are moving forward with developing distribution guidelines.

The proposed pay plan distribution will be 4% divided into two installments to eligible employees with half of the increase effective July 1, 2018, and the other half effective Jan. 1, 2019. Faculty, academic staff holding an instructional or non-instructional renewable appointment, limited appointees, and permanent and project university staff not represented by a collective bargaining agreement will be considered for an adjustment, if meeting all required criteria. Temporary employees and academic staff holding an instructional or non-instructional fixed-term terminal appointment are not eligible for pay plan adjustments. Any adjustments for these employee categories will have to be considered outside of the pay plan policy and be funded through the campus budget. Campus leadership values the work of all employees and is actively reviewing options for those employees who would not be included in the state pay plan.

Other important criteria to note:

  • Salary adjustments will be considered only for those hired on or before Dec. 31, 2017.
  • Eligibility is based on merit and having a job performance rating of “successfully meets expectations,” “meets standards” or higher on the appropriate performance evaluation. View review forms at https://www.uwrf.edu/HumanResources/PerformanceManagement.cfm
  • Those eligible for an adjustment must be identified by March 2018 in preparation for the Fiscal Year 2019 budget. As a result, supervisors must complete 2017-18 performance reviews and submit them to Human Resources no later than March 1, 2018. (The deadlines for 2018-19 performance reviews will return to the regular schedule.) Please make note of this and plan accordingly.
