Audition Information

Open Auditions! 
We are auditioning for three fall theatre productions!

 

Thurs 9/12, 6-9pm or Fri 9/13, 3-6pm
Davis Theatre (KFA 103)

 

Auditions are open to all students, regardless of major.
Roles are race/ethnicity, disability, and gender inclusive. No experience or preparation is necessary. Dress to move. You may audition for any or all production(s). If you can’t make these times, contact kathy.welch@uwrf.edu for alternative.  

Staged Reading:  A low-commitment performance opportunity

The Community Garden by Justin Borak

A newcomer volunteers for a community garden and learns that care for the environment teaches care for people.  

Rehearsals: Sept 23 – Oct 9
Performances:  Oct 10 and 11 at 7:30 pm
 

A staged reading is great for students who want to be involved in a production that requires a shorter time commitment: Two weeks of rehearsals, two performance nights. You will sit on
the stage with scripts.

 

Masquers Show – a student-led production

She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen

Agnes Evans processes the tragic death of her sister through a game called Dungeons and Dragons. This play represents grief, loss, love and LGBTQ +. 

Rehearsals: Sept 16 - Nov 5, Sun – Thurs from 6 -9 pm

Performances:   Nov 6, 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 pm

 

Stage and Screen Productions’ Fall Musical

1940s Radio Christmas Carol by Walton Jones

Musical comedy – most roles require singing, no dance necessary

The tale of a rag-tag group of actors performing Dickens’ classic story through the mayhem of a live radio broadcast in 1943.

Rehearsals: Oct 14-Dec 5, Sun – Thurs from 6 -9 pm

Performances:   Dec 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm, Dec 8 at 2 pm

Characters

Many roles are radio actors who create distinct character voices, animal sounds and dialects.

Clifton – Cheap radio producer and front man.

William – (singing not required) Veteran star of stage and screen. Plays Scrooge.

Cholly – Comic ham with a day job as a baker.

Fritz – Cynical ex-salesman.

Jackie – (tenor)Teased for being young, lives with mom.

Judith – Determined and stubborn leading lady

Margie – Brassy and flippant veteran of comic radio roles.

Sally – Sweet on the outside tough on the inside, Rosie the Riveter type.

Buzz – (singing not required) Agreeable sound effects master, loves the show.

Toots – Musical director

Esther – (singing not required) Audio engineer

Harold – (singing not required) Hotel concierge
