Fall Textbook Issue

Textbook Services has modified book issue to provide a safe environment for you to collect the textbooks for your courses. To promote physical distancing and limit the potential spread of COVID-19 we are having a no-contact book issue.

Prior to Getting Your Textbooks
  • Finalize your class schedule so we can be sure to get the correct items for your Fall courses.
  • Log into the Textbook Pickup form to reserve a pickup time. Students will need to sign up for a pickup time at least 24 hours prior to getting their books so staff has time to pull, check out, and bag your items.
  • Textbook distribution starts August 17th with the following schedule:
    • August 17-21: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • August 24-28: Monday to Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • August 29-30: Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • August 31-September 4: Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On September 8th Textbook Services will start its fall schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment.

Picking Up Your Books
  • Show up at Hagestad Hall as close to your scheduled time as possible. Bring you campus ID* and wear a face covering.
  • A staff member will check your ID and direct you to the appropriate table where your bagged books will be waiting for you. (They will be already checked out.)
  • Once you have your bag, head to the back where another staff member will make sure the correct bag is paired with the correct person.

* If you do not have a Student ID, you can use any valid picture ID (e.g. Driver's License, Passport)

If you need to reschedule your appointment, the confirmation message sent to your UWRF email has a link to modify or cancel your reservation.

Not on Campus?

Still Have Spring or Summer Items?

Textbooks, iClickers, and Garmins from spring and summer may be returned in the book drop outside of Hagestad Hall. If you are unable to return items in person, please contact textbookservices@uwrf.edu for a shipping label.

Summer Textbook Return

Summer textbooks need to be returned to the book drop outside of Hagestad or mailed back to Textbook Services at: UW-River Falls Textbook Services, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls, WI 54022. Textbook Services is not supplying shipping labels for summer term textbooks. Books may take a week or more to be checked in, as we are required to quarantine them for 5 days.

Spring 2020 Textbook Return

  1. The book drop outside of Hagestad Hall will be open for book return 24/7. All in-person returns need to be to the drop box. Books may take a week or mopre to be checked in, as we are required to quarantine them for 5 days.
  2. Students who do not plan to return to UWRF in the Fall should email textbookservices@uwrf.edu telling us you are not planning to return. We will email you a pre-paid mailing label to your school email and instructions on returning your books (see note below.)
  3. Due date for Spring term will be 2 weeks after you receive your mailing label or Wednesday September 2nd by 4:00 PM, whichever is soonest. 
  4. Students who are shipping textbooks back to us, please follow the instructions below. (Go to instructions.)

NOTE: Pre-paid shipping labels are still being processed in alphabetical order.  If you need a label sooner, please contact textbookservices@uwrf.edu

Instructions For Shipping Textbooks Back To UWRF

  1. A pre-paid mailing label will be sent to you at your school email.
  2. Pack all textbooks in a cardboard box. (Do not use a USPS Priority Mail flat rate box.) Fill any voids with packing material (e.g. air pillows, bubble wrap, newsprint).
  3. If you have only one or two books, you may use a padded shipping envelope instead of a box.
  4. Seal box with packing tape.
  5. Print shipping label and firmly tape it to the top of the box. If you do not have a way to print a label, contact Textbook Services at textbookservices@uwrf.edu. We will arrange to mail a label to you instead.
  6. Take the box to a UPS office or drop point. You can find the nearest location at https://www.ups.com/dropoff/?loc=locale. If you do not have something close to you, schedule a pick-up online at ups.com or by calling 1-800-742-5877. UPS will pick the package at the address you provide. You will not be charged a pickup fee.
