New Position: Nutritionist/Customer Service Representative at Farmer's Grain and Feed in Allenton
Hometown: Allenton
Tyler Hetebrueg, a dairy science science major at UW-River Falls, will be following the herd right into his new position with Farmer's Grain and Feed in his hometown of Allenton. Because of his connection with farms in the area, Tyler was able to network his way into a job as a nutritionist and customer service representative.
"I will be balancing dairy cattle rations with establishing a new customer base," Tyler said.
How did UW-River Falls prepare you for your new career?
"UWRF prepared me through a diverse course selection for my major."
While attending UW-River Falls, did you have a particular class, faculty/staff member, or experience that was instrumental to your success?
"A memorable experience for me was doing a major project for advanced dairy management and dairy cattle nutrition courses. These two classes did a project together where we went out to a farm and preformed a complete farm analysis looking at all aspects of the farm. From these visits, we prepared suggestions in a large presentation for the farm to make improvements."
What one piece of advice would you have for an incoming freshman attending UW-River Falls?
"I would advise incoming freshmen to become active in campus clubs."
