Motion 73: Motion from the APP to approve the following changes to the Agricultural Engineering Technology Program. (Please see attached supporting documents for details.)

  1. Change the name of the Agricultural Engineering Technology Program to EngineeringTechnology and change the CIP code to 150000 to better market and more accurately represent the program.
  2. Change the current Environmental Engineering Option name to Natural Resources andrcesand Civil Technology and expand the number of electives available to create more flexibility and allow concentrations within the option.
  3. Change the name and curriculum of the current Agricultural Engineering Technology Option to Test Engineering Technology.
  4. Change the current Mechanized Systems Management Option to Agricultural Systems Management, offering additional courses in Agricultural and creating more flexibility in the program.
  5. Create a new Food and Bioprocessing Technology Option from existing Agricultural Engineering Technology and Food Science courses.
  6. Change the current Agricultural Engineering Technology Minor to Engineering Technology Minor with a more flexible configuration of coursework.

Motion 84: Motion from the Faculty Senate to charge all standing committees to review all processes and procedures governed by the committee to identify any that can be streamlined or revised to reduce workload while maintaining quality.
(For example, UCC might develop a process for the Chair to approve curriculum changes considered trivial, such as changing the start date of an already approved curriculum change. The committee would define when proposals required the whole curriculum review versus a Chair review. Assessment Committee might identify ways to streamline assessment reports. Each committee should examine their procedures from a workload perspective and aim to reduce workload and speed up processes without sacrificing quality.) (April 5, 2022)

Motion 89: Motion from the Faculty Senate to charge the Academic Standards Committee (Lissa Schneider, Chair) to review the information from the Ad Hoc Committee on Certificates and to recommend proposals that address the criteria and process for evaluating and approving certificate programs. Further, please add in estimates of faculty and academic department workload related to all aspects of certificate program delivery, advising, and monitoring to ensure a more comprehensive accounting of the full costs of these programs.
