Project Updates

Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and management of construction projects for the UWRF campus.  When a project becomes too large or too costly to be undertaken by Building Maintenance, it is assigned to our campus engineer.

Duties related to projects include:

  • Investigation and analysis of technical problems
  • Design for campus maintenance and improvement projects
  • Project cost estimation
  • Development of construction plans and specifications
  • Interpretation and incorporation of applicable codes, laws, and regulations
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Construction supervision and inspection

After determining that a project is indeed needed, a state project request is prepared and funding is requested from the Division of State Facilities in Madison. When approval of a project has been received, the engineers are involved with construction, supervision, and inspection.
