UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
The UWRF Grounds Maintenance Department's primary responsibilities are to maintain a welcoming, safe and attractive outdoor environment to meet the needs of the campus community. Duties include snow and ice control of over 10 miles of sidewalks, 22.5 acres of parking lots (2400 spaces), and 3 miles of streets. Grounds also maintains the campus trail system with 2 miles of paved trails highlighting the South Fork of the Kinnickinnic River.
Grounds Maintenance also provides service for litter and trash collection on campus, moving of equipment and furnishings between buildings, and maintenance of outside features including 40 acres of athletic and intramural fields. Campus includes 120 acres of turf, an outdoor classroom, amphitheatre, flower and shrub beds including rain gardens, and storm water collection areas. There are 25 acres of protected native and wetland areas and a large, diverse tree population.
