The 24th Annual Outdoor Art Installations are Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 7 and 8, at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The public is invited to walk around campus viewing the artwork.
 
51st Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo at UW-River Falls Set For Sept. 11-12
The 51st annual Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, at the outdoor rodeo arena at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Campus Farm located on the corner of S. Wasson Lane and Cemetery Road in River Falls.
 
Annual Homecoming and Family Weekend Festivities Announced
Thursday, Oct. 2, marks the kick off the annual Homecoming and Family Weekend at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Events will run through Sunday, Oct. 4, and feature a variety of artistic, alumni, and athletic programs, many of which are open to the public. UWRF alumni and families are invited to campus to participate in the weekend’s festivities.
 
Dairy Judging Team Takes Second at Second National Contest
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dairy Judging Team took second place overall at the 22nd Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest sponsored by Accelerated Genetics on Sept. 20.
 
Dairy Judging Team Takes Second Place at All-American Contest
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dairy Judging Team took second place overall at the 52nd All-American Dairy Judging Contest in Harrisburg, Pa., on Sept. 14.
 
David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field Rededicated
Eight years of planning, fundraising, and construction culminated in the rededication of David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field Sept. 19, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Members of the Smith family, along with UWRF students, alumni, and administrators were on hand to celebrate the new facility and thank the numerous donors who made the $1.9 million renovation project a success. The project was fully funded by private gifts and student fees.
 
Faculty Excellence Award Recipients Announced at UW-River Falls
Three University of Wisconsin-River Falls faculty members have received excellence awards following nominations from colleagues. Each recipient received $1,000.
 
Mallon is Peterson Lecture Series Speaker at UW-River Falls
Florencia E. Mallon, Julieta Kirkwood Professor of History at UW-Madison, will speak at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 6, as part of the annual Edward N. Peterson Lecture Series. The lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center and will be preceded by a reception at 4 p.m.
 
Noon Coffee Concerts Presented at UW-River Falls
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Music Department is again hosting noon Coffee Concerts Series that are free and open to the public.
 
Public Invited to Rededication of Smith Stadium at Ramer Field
Sept. 3, 2015--After more than eight years of planning, fundraising and construction, David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will be officially rededicated on Saturday, Sept. 19. The public event will take place before the first Falcon home football game of the season.
 
River Falls Named One of the ‘Safest College Towns in America’
River Falls has been named one of the “50 Safest College Towns in America” according to The SafeWise Report.
 
U.S. News Names UW-River Falls a ‘Best Regional University’
U.S. News & World Report has named the University of Wisconsin-River Falls a “Best Regional Public University” and a “Best Regional University-Midwest” for 2016. UWRF's most recent ranking appears in the U.S. News & World Report's 2016 edition of Best Colleges, released last week.
 
UW-River Falls Named ‘A Best In The Midwest’ College by The Princeton Review
For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has been named one of the best colleges in the Midwest according to the nationally known education services company The Princeton Review. UW-River Falls is one of 159 institutions in 12 Midwestern states and one of four University of Wisconsin System institutions deemed “Best in the Midwest.”
 
UW-River Falls to Host Annual Fall Career Fair
The Fall Career Fair at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom in the University Center. The public is invited to this free event.
 
UW-River Falls to Host Piano Festival & Competition
A Piano Festival & Competition will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26, in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. All festival concerts are free and open to the public.
 
UW-River Falls to Offer New Agricultural Engineering Degree
Set to open in fall 2016, the agricultural engineering program is the only one of its kind in a nearly 200-mile radius of UW-River Falls. Industry demand for more agricultural engineers in this rapidly growing region of the state was a key factor in development of the new program, with research indicating an 8-9 percent job growth rate in the field between 2010-2020.
 
Visiting Artist Akagawa to Present Two Public Lectures
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Art Department will host two public lectures by the Fall 2015-16 Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Visiting Professor Kinji Akagawa, an internationally recognized artist who is lauded for his pioneering work in site-specific sculpture and public art. The lectures are free and open to all.
