Graduate Studies

Graduate education at UW-River Falls opens doors for professional and personal opportunities through more than 20 programs, certificates, and licenses. The university has highly-qualified faculty, helpful and friendly staff, and programs that challenge students to reach their potential. Our programs have built reputations for meeting the needs of our state, region, and the world.  

The Graduate Studies Office is located in the Division of Academic Affairs, within the Associate Provost's Office in North Hall. The office provides oversight for graduate education at the university and administers graduate records, policies, and other procedures relating to graduate studies.

Mission

Graduate programs at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls provide collaborative and engaging learning environments that prepare students to be advanced practitioners in their fields. Specifically, graduate programs prepare students to:

  • Translate theory into practice
  • Utilize professional best practices and evidence-based methods
  • Conduct ethical and relevant research
  • Employ inter-cultural competence

Admission

Information about individual programs is available below. Applications for admission are collected by the Admissions Office and are then forwarded to the appropriate graduate program for review and approval.

 

Accreditations and Professional Recognitions

 

UW-River Falls is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central Region, which includes 19 states. UW-River Falls is also a member of the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools, an affiliate of the Council of Graduate Schools.
