Late Fine Policy Change

Effective Monday, May 16th, fines for late returned books after the semester ends will be assessed per class versus per book. The fine schedule will be as follows:

  • First two weeks after the semester ends - $5 per class (regardless of number of books for that class)
  • Next two weeks after the semester ends (3 & 4 weeks after semester end) - $10 per class
  • Five or more weeks after the semester ends - $15 per class

Any textbook that is more than 14 days late, where Textbook Services had to purchase a replacement to meet student demand for the next academic term, will become a MUST PURCHASE and you will be responsible for the full replacement value of the book.

The end of semester date will be the last official day of finals. Those programs which currently have automatic one week extensions will be assessed starting a week after the semester ends. In the event of extenuating circumstances for late returns (e.g. delayed finals, family or medical emergency, etc.) contact Textbook Services at before the end of finals week with an explanation. We may require an email from your instructor or advisor to verify your circumstances.

Summer Textbooks

Textbooks for Summer semester will be available to check out starting on Monday, May 9th (the first day of Spring semester finals.) All Spring semester textbooks must be returned and any outstanding fines with Textbook Services paid before you can check out your summer books. Remember that you must have a picture ID to check out books.
