Textbook Services

Summer Term Textbooks

All items checked out for Summer term from Textbook Services are due back by Tuesday, September 2nd. Books can be returned in person to the Textbook Services Help Desk during normal operating hours or placed in one of our drop boxes:

  • Outside of Hagestad Hall, open 24/7.
  • In the basement of Hagestad, to the left of Textbook Services main doors (29 Hagestad Hall).

If you are unable to physically return your books to campus, mail your items to:

Books that are mailed must be postmarked by September 2nd and received no later than September 9th. We recommend shipping with tracking. Click here for instructions on how to ship books back to us. Overdue and lost fees will apply.

Fall Textbook Issue

In person textbook issue will begin on Tuesday August 24th. We will be returning to our normal method of checking out books with the exception that you will still need to make an appointment. A link for making an appointment online will be posted here in August at least one week before textbook issue starts. We will have open hours the weekend before classes start and extended hours the first week of classes. For more details on the check out process and hours of operation go HERE.

Distance learners and students in certain programs who cannot easily get to campus when we are open can request their books be mailed to them. There is a single flat fee of $12 to have your textbooks mailed (excluding shipments outside of the U.S.) Use the "Request Books to Be Mailed" link on the left side of this webpage to submit your request. Mail requests will be processed starting August 16th.

Instructions for Shipping Textbooks Back to UWRF

  1. Pack all textbooks in a cardboard box or USPS Flat Rate Box. Fill any voids with packing material (e.g. air pillows, bubble wrap, newsprint).
  2. If you have only one or two books, you may use a padded shipping envelope instead of a box.
  3. Seal box with packing tape.
  4. Address the package to: UW-River Falls Textbook Services, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls, WI 54022.
  5. Take the box to a Post Office, UPS Office or FedEx Store.
