Strategic Plan

 

Goals and Objectives

The Department of Residence Life has established a strategic plan for 2016-2021.  The strategic planning process included an examination of our mission, vision, and values as well a review of existing data and evidence about the Department.  The goals will be carried out via various strategies and associated action plans.

Goal 1:  Student Engagement

The Department of Residence Life will create opportunities for student engagement that leads to personal and educational development.

Objectives

1. The overall grade point averages for students living in the residence halls will increase.
2. Students living in the residence halls will put time and effort into personal development activities.
3. Students living in the residence halls will put time and effort into educationally purposeful activities.
4. The recidivism of residence hall students involved in multiple conduct cases will decrease.
5. The overall number of student conduct cases in the residence halls will decrease.
6. Residence hall students will demonstrate learning in the 3 Residence Life learning outcomes.

 

Goal 2:  Sense of Place

The Department of Residence Life will create and support communities that foster a sense of belonging and connectedness to UWRF.

Objectives

1. Residence hall students will express high levels of satisfaction with their overall experience of living on campus.
2. Residence hall students will express a high sense of community regarding their residence hall experience.
3. Residence hall students participating in various residence hall groups (living-learning communities, student staff, and student leaders) will express high levels of satisfaction with their experience.
4. The retention of first-time, first-year residence hall students to UWRF will increase.
5. Residence hall students will be likely to recommend living on campus to others.
6. Residence hall students will express a sense of belonging and inclusivity at UWRF.

 

Goal 3:  Excellence and Innovation

The Department of Residence Life will enhance infrastructure to provide excellent and innovative service delivery.

Objectives

1. Department of Residence Life staff will express high levels of satisfaction working for the department.
2. Department of Residence Life staff will demonstrate professional growth through educational opportunities.
3. The Department of Residence Life will meet or exceed professional standards as set by ACUHO-I.
4. Department of Residence Life services will maintain affordable room rates and other services through responsible resource management.
