UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
The Residence Life Department provides leadership and management for 11 residence halls with a capacity for over 2,500 students. The on-campus population is approximately 40% of the university’s undergraduate enrollment. Residence hall options include first-year, mixed-class, and upper-division residence halls. Residence hall living is also offered to UWRF students year-round.
Our core functions are to 1.) provide facilities that are safe, clean and comfortable; 2.) provide residence hall environments where students can successfully learn and develop; and 3.) manage resources to effectively carry out the mission, cover costs, and maintain affordability for students.
Student learning and development is facilitated through community development, interpersonal interactions, and a residential learning curriculum. Residence hall student leadership groups include hall councils, Residence Hall Association (RHA), and the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), each advised by Residence Life staff. In collaboration with Academic and Student Affairs, five academic learning communities, a first-year transition community, and two special interest communities are offered and serve over 850 residence hall students.
