Scholarships

The UW-River Falls Art Department offers scholarships for which you can apply annually. These are separate from UWRF Scholarship Opportunities. They are funded by the UW-River Falls Foundation through contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, friends, parents, campus organizations, and corporations. Starting Fall 2018

Mary L Barrett Chancellor's Scholarship—Full-tuition + $2,000 Stipend

Eligibility: 28 ACT (1310 SAT) or higher, and rank in the top 10%, and declared Art major (studying art or design)
This award is renewable for up to four years. Stipends can be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during your junior or senior year. One new awardee per year.

Mary L BarrettFalcon Scholars Scholarship—$6,000

Eligibility: 25 ACT (1200 SAT) or higher, or rank in the top 25% (or 3.5 GPA if high school does not rank), and declared Art major (studying art or design)
A $1,000 annual award that is renewable for up to four years plus a $2,000 stipend which can be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during your junior or senior year. Two new awardees per year.

Current Scholarship Opportunities

Mary L Barrett Scholarship

For worthy and creative students majoring in any area of art and continuing as a sophomore, junior, or senior student.

Walker D & Helen Bryant Wyman Scholarship

Based upon academic excellence in the major, awarded to a student who has completed at least one full year of study at UWRF. Potential for success and financial need may also be factors.

William and Suzanne Ammerman Art Scholarships

Awarded to Art majors who have completed the freshman year and have shown creativity and dedication through their artwork and academic classes.

Kurt & Ruth Wild Scholarship

Awarded to an outstanding Art major for the junior or senior year, based upon academic excellence, creativity, and potential.

Art Department Faculty and Student Coalition Scholarships

Awarded to Art majors on the basis of academic excellence in the major who have completed at least one year at UWRF.

Ruby and J. Bernard McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship

Granted to a sophomore or junior Art major who has earned 18 credits in Art at UWRF with a minimum GPA of 3.25 in Art courses.
 

Walter & Lee Nottingham Scholarship

Awarded to an Art major for the junior or senior year, based upon academic excellence, creativity, and financial need.

Upon admission, incoming freshmen who have a record of academic success may apply to become a Falcon Scholar through a rigorous application process. Qualifying students who continue to maintain a 2.75 GPA will be offered renewable, four-year scholarship support ($1,000/year; $4,000 total), funded by donors. Differential tuition funds of $2,000 will be used to support international study abroad and/or participation in undergraduate research, scholarly or creative activity for Falcon Scholars attending full-time.https://www.uwrf.edu/FalconScholars/

Chancellor's Scholarship -  Full-tuition or Half-tuition + $2,000 Stipend
Eligibility: 28 ACT (1310 SAT) or higher, and rank in the top 10%
This award is renewable for up to four years. Stipends can be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during your junior or senior year. The Chancellor's Scholarship cannot be combined with one of the Academic Achievement Awards.  

Falcon Scholars Scholarship - $6,000
Eligibility: 25 ACT (1200 SAT) or higher, or rank in the top 25% (or 3.5 GPA if high school does not rank)
A $1,000 annual award that is renewable for up to four years plus a $2,000 stipend which can be used for undergraduate research or to study abroad during your junior or senior year.
