Scholarship Funds
 

Charles and Patricia White Scholarship is awarded to students in good standing in the College of Arts and Sciences who are pursuing the pre-law curriculum

Denis P. Hickey Memorial Scholarship supports entering junior or senior students with a political science major.  Student must: show evidence of leadership capabilities through active participation in school, church, or community; be satisfactorily progressing toward a degree as determined by the adviser.

Dominic Svec Family Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in political science. Preference will be given to a student from the Ellsworth area. Preference will be given to a student who may have given serious consideration to working for the federal or state government in some capacity.

Dr. Ray Anderson Scholarship supports students majoring or minoring in political science. Student must: have completed at least six semester hours in political science; be active in partisan or nonpartisan politics at the national, state or local level or in student government; have demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students who are or have been involved in environmental politics.

Kenneth S. White Memorial Scholarship supports students pursuing the pre-law curriculum at UW-River Falls.

Lawrence R. Gansluckner Political Science Scholarship supports entering junior students majoring in political science. Student must be attending full-time, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate community involvement/engagement on application.

Lew Garrison Coit Scholarship is awarded to students who have an outstanding academic record, preferably in government or economic-related courses, and have demonstrated leadership ability and satisfactory deportment.

Manley E. Olson Political Science Scholarship supports a full-time entering sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in political science with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.  Scholarship is renewable each year until graduation, provided the recipient continues in their major and maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Pronley Family Political Science Memorial Scolarship supports full-time entering junior or senior students with a political science major. Student must: have a minimum GPA of 3.0; demonstrated leadership abilities and involvement in campus student activities, community organizations, and/or civic and service organizations; complete an essay (at least 500 words) detailing why they have chosen to study political science and how their leadership skills help them to meet the needs of their community.  Scholarship renewal is possible until graduation as long as criteria are met.

Robert L. Berg Scholarship supports an entering junior student with a political science major who has completed at least 60 credits with 8 credits in political science, has demonstrated leadership ability, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Richard J. and Maurine K. Brynildsen Scholarship supports an entering sophomore, junior or senior student with a political science major. The student must have an interest in international affairs and be in good academic standing.

Department Funds
 

International Studies Fund supports international programs on campus, study abroad opportunities and internationalization of the university

Political Science Department Fund may be used to help fund events and activities for political science students and alumni.

Tracey Gladstone-Sovell Memorial Fund supports the Political Science program and the purchase of two computers for student use.
