Political Science

The study of political science prepares students for a range of careers in both the public and private sectors as well as for post-graduate study. A sample of these include: law, business, journalism, public and international affairs, federal, state and local government, research and university teaching, private and non-profit organizations, interest groups, and campaign management. Political science majors gain analytical skills, administrative competence and communication abilities that are valued in a wide spectrum of potential career areas. For a more complete listing of potential careers, see The American Political Science Association for political science majors. Our alumni serve in capacities such as U.S. Judge, C.I.A., Attorney, Professor, corporate manager, campaign director, and various other governmental positions.
