Anthony Moua

Anthony Moua (2017)

Political Science Major

Current Position: English teacher at Kanlayanawat School in Khon Kaen, Thailand

How did you get there?: Went through a 4 week training TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course with a company who afterwards connected me with another company that worked with the school by bringing in native English speaking teachers to teach English courses.

Advice for students: Keep your options open. Initially I had aspirations to work directly with the government or a government type job. However, as I continued to keep my options open prior to graduation, I believe I have found my calling through additional experiences I never thought would have such an impact on me (e.g. helping a Ukrainian friend practice her English for her Work and Travel interview so she could come work in America led me to wanting to teaching English). I am very glad and very fortunate that my first job after graduation is something I actually enjoy doing.
