Butler Challenges Others to Help Fund UW-River Falls Student Research in Europe
John E. Butler, Ph.D., a 1961 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (chemistry, biology), recently launched an appeal to fellow UW-River Falls donors who are interested in helping students gain access to semester-long scientific research experiences in Europe.
 
Dallas Named UW-River Falls 2014 Wisconsin Distinguished Agriculturalist
Terri Dallas, vice-president of information and public relations for Cooperative Resources International (CRI) was honored as the 2014 Wisconsin Distinguished Agriculturalist by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at their Awards Banquet on April 24.
 
Free Tuesday Summer Concerts Begin June 17 at UW-River Falls
The Cactus Blossoms will be the first featured performance of this summer’s Chill on the Hill free Tuesday concert series presented by UW-River Falls at 7 p.m. on June 17, at the outdoor Melvin Wall Amphitheatre.
 
Smith Named CAFES Outstanding Faculty Member at UW-River Falls
Brian R. Smith, professor of horticulture and state extension commercial fruit specialist, received the 2014 Outstanding Faculty Award at the 48th Annual Awards Banquet in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on April 24. This is the highest award bestowed upon a faculty member in the college.
 
UW-River Falls Dean Emeritus Prochnow Pens Guide to College and Career Success
Neal Prochnow, UW-River Falls Arts & Sciences dean emeritus, has written a recently published book titled “Graduate and Start a Career…On Time – Tips for College Students and Parents.”
 
UW-River Falls Distinguished Alumnus and Teacher to be Honored at Spring 2014 Commencement
An expected 760 degree candidates will participate in commencement ceremonies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday, May 17. Two ceremonies will be held at the Robert P. Knowles Recreation Center. The first, at 9:30 a.m., includes candidates from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, and Graduate Studies.
 
UW-River Falls Students Honored With Chancellor's Award
Six University of Wisconsin-River Falls students received the 2014 Chancellor's Award for Excellence and were honored at a ceremony on campus May 1. The Chancellor's Award is the highest non-academic honor a student can receive at UW-River Falls.
 
UW-River Falls to Host Flexible Business Degree Options Open House
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host an open house for working professionals and college graduates who are interested in increasing their earning potential and career opportunities by completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration.
 
Weyer and Stoddard Named CAFES Outstanding Seniors at UW-River Falls
Two students were honored as Outstanding Seniors by the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at the annual CAFES Senior Supper on April 30.
