10th Annual Bowls for Hope tickets now available
February 21, 2019 – Tickets are now available for the 10th Annual Bowls for Hope community event on Tuesday, March 5, from 5-7 p.m. that will benefit the River Falls Sunshine Fund. Everyone is invited to take part in this event held in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center at UW-River Falls.
 
Acclaimed artist Sterling Hundley to visit campus
February 21, 2019 - American painter and illustrator Sterling Hundley will visit the University of Wisconsin-River Falls March 4-8 as the Spring 2019 Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Visiting Professor in Art. He will give a free public lecture “Creative Tongues” on Monday, March 4, at 4 p.m. in North Hall Auditorium.
 
Alumna Maureen Pechacek shares keys to success
February 28, 2019 - From her childhood home in Ellsworth, Minneapolis seemed a world away for Maureen Pechacek. Looking back, she sees the experiences and life lessons that helped bridge that distance and served as keys to her more than 30 years success in business.

Community invited to share in Aldo Leopold Day events
February 21, 2019 – The community is invited to celebrate Wisconsin’s world-famous conservationist Aldo Leopold on Wednesday, March 6, from 4-7 p.m. at Rush River Brewery, 990 Antler Ct., River Falls. The free community event is hosted by the River Falls Public Library, Rush River Brewing, the St. Croix River Association and the UW-River Falls Sustainability Faculty Fellows.
 
Falcon Center named outstanding sports facility
February 18, 2019 – The Falcon Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls received the NIRSA Outstanding Sports Facilities Award during the organization’s national conference in Boston over the weekend. NIRSA is a nationally recognized association that supports and promotes the benefits of recreation at the collegiate level.
 
Langston Hughes Project performance set for Thursday  
February 18, 2019 - The UWRF Center for Diversity, Inclusivity and Belonging has invited Ron McCurdy, professor of music and jazz studies at the USC Thornton School of Music, to present the Langston Hughes Project at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. The performance is free and open to the public. 
 
University Theatre performs ‘Argonautika’
February 21, 2019 --University Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will perform “Argonautika” by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman March 7-9 and March 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Blanche Davis Theatre in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.

UW-River Falls celebrates Women’s History Month with Tres Vidas performance
February 28, 2019 - In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Center of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is hosting an ensemble performance by Tres Vidas on Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. The performance is free and open to the public.
 
UW-River Falls collaborating to bring Chinese language/culture program to elementary students
February 21, 2019 - Students at the River Falls Public Montessori Elementary School will have the opportunity to learn basic Mandarin Chinese during the 2019-20 school year through a pilot program developed by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the Department of Education in Heilongjiang Province, China.
 
World Without Genocide founder to speak Feb. 11
February 4, 2019 - Ellen Kennedy, founder of World Without Genocide, will speak at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Monday, Feb. 11. She will present “Statelessness and the Refugee Crisis Today,” from noon-1 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the UWRF Political Science Department.
