Annual colt sale set for May 5
April 12, 2018 – Fifty-four high quality two-year-old horses will be offered for sale at the 42nd Annual UW-River Falls Colt Sale on Saturday, May 5, at the UWRF Campus Farm, off S. Wasson Lane. The horses have been trained by UW-River Falls students enrolled in the Principles of Training Horses class under the direction of Nathan O’Connor.
 
Author and environmental educator Richard Louv to visit UW-River Falls April 23
April 5, 2018 – The author and environmental educator who has garnered international respect for his investigation of “nature deficit disorder” will visit the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Monday, April 23.
 
BFA students hold exhibition
April 13, 2018 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls seniors Samantha Kern, Stephanie Lenertz and Mitchell McCarty will present their Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Exhibition in Gallery 101 in Kleinpell Fine Arts April 20-May 1. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
 
Bowls for Hope event raises $6,500 for Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley
April 9, 2018 -The ninth annual Bowls for Hope event held March 6 at UW-River Falls raised $6,500 for Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley. Each year UWRF collaborates with the community to raise funds through Bowls for Hope for a worthy organization that makes a difference in the St. Croix Valley.

April 13, 2018 – The State of Wisconsin Building Commission has given final approval to the UW-River Falls Dairy Pilot Plant renovation project.
 
Hippo Campus will headline Finals Fest May 4
April 2, 2018 – The Midwest is Best Finals Fest event at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will showcase two acts on Friday, May 4. Wisconsin Comedian Pete Lee will open at 7 p.m. with headliner Hippo Campus performing at 8:15 p.m. The event, on the University Center mall (outdoors), is free and open to the public.
 
Junior selected for Agriculture Future of America Student Advisory Team
April 4, 2018 – University of Wisconsin-River Falls junior Jared Retzlaff is one of only ten students from across the nation selected to serve on the Student Advisory Team for Agriculture Future of America (AFA). AFA is a leadership and professional development organization for college students and young professionals.
 
Kinni Watershed Partnership community forum April 24
April 4, 2018 - The Kinnickinnic Watershed Partnership will host a community forum on Tuesday, April 24, from 5-8 p.m. at Junior’s Restaurant and Tap House, 414 S. Main St., River Falls. The forum is free and open to the public.

St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center celebrates grand opening
April 13, 2018 – Before a crowd of over 200 invited guests, project partners, elected officials and representatives and members of the public, the St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center (SCVBIC) opened April 12.

April 5, 2018 – The St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center will hold a grand opening Thursday, April 12, in River Falls. The center is a partnership between the River Falls Economic Development Corporation, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, the City of River Falls, and Chippewa Valley Technical College.

April 9, 2018 - Two University of Wisconsin-River Falls students were honored by the Wisconsin chapter of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers at their March 28 meeting in Oshkosh.
 
University Theatre presents ‘A Mixed-Media Midsummer Night’s Dream’
April 6, 2018 - University Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will present “A Mixed-Media Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare April 19-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanford Syse Theatre (Black Box) in Kleinpell Fine Arts.
 
UWRF to offer summer ACT test preparation classes
April 17, 2018--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will offer test preparation classes in June and July for high school students planning to take the ACT, a popular admissions test measuring academic readiness for college. Students may attend one of two four-day sessions beginning June 4 at the UWRF Hudson Center in Hudson or July 9 on the UW-River Falls campus.
 
UW-River Falls Collegiate Farm Bureau to host ag day
April 9, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter will host the third annual Ag Day on Campus from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, to promote Wisconsin agriculture. The event is free and open to the public.
 
UW-River Falls students participate in Research in the Rotunda
April 13, 2018 - Nine University of Wisconsin-River Falls students shared their research on topics ranging from myoelectric partial hand prostheses to the effect of snow on the South Pole neutron monitors at the 15th Annual Research in the Rotunda event in Madison April 11.
 
UW-River Falls to host livestock marketing seminar
April 23, 2018- Experts from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection will present a seminar focusing on effective ways to market livestock May 18-19 at the UWRF Mann Valley Farm in River Falls.
