International Student Services (ISS) serves as the primary resource for UW-River Falls international students.

The staff in ISS works closely with other members of the University and River Falls community in an effort to improve a student's academic, social, and professional success. We are proud to currently host 300 international students from 20 countries.

International Student Services provides the following:

  • Orientation programming for new international students that introduces students to the information, resources, and support they need to be successful at UW-River Falls and beyond, including understanding and adjusting to U.S. culture.
  • Information about immigration issues such as: maintenance of status, extensions of stay, and employment issues, authorization, reinstatements, transfers, re-entry, etc.
  • Assistance connecting international students with campus resources for student health and counseling, academic support, finances, careers, student activities, and more.
  • Assistance connecting international students with the resources available in River Falls and surrounding communities for clothes, food, personal items, house wares, and more.
  • Coordination of the Host Family Program, providing an opportunity for international students to establish connections with local families.
  • A community of support, through the Global Programming Society (GPS). This student organization provides an excellent opportunity to interact with people from different cultures through events, activities, trips, and other programming.
