UW River Falls is committed to providing no less than 50% of the funds received under section 18004(a)(1) in the form of direct grants to students to assist with expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and child care related to the disruption of campus operations due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

2. On April 22, 2020, UW River Falls received the first installment of funding under section 18004(a)(1) in the amount of $2,213,733 for the express purpose of making Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

3. As of May 8, 2020, $384,375 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants were distributed students.

4. As of May 8, 2020, 4,058 students met the eligibility requirements to receive funding under Section 484 of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (as amended). This number does not include students enrolled wholly in a program of distance education who are excluded from eligibility for the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

5. As of May 8, 664 students have received Emergency Financial Aid Grants.

6. To receive an Emergency Financial Aid Grant, students must:

a. Complete a brief application form stating that they experienced financial expenses as a result of the disruption of campus operations, and identifying the category of allowable cost incurred;

b. Submit a signed FAFSA for either the 2019-20 or 2020-21 academic year;

c. Pass all U.S. Department of Education database matches and be determined eligible for Title IV aid;

d. Be admitted to the University as a degree-seeking student for spring semester 2020; and

e. Have been enrolled in at least 1 credit hour of instruction on or after March 11, 2020.

7. Emergency Financial Aid Grant awards were pre-determined, ranging from $225 to $750. Award amounts assume that certain categories of students experienced differential financial expenses due to the disruption of campus operations. * Eligible students were assigned an amount based on the following criteria:

a. An Expected Family Contribution as determined by the FAFSA that is within or exceeds eligibility for the Pell Grant;

b Full-time or Part-time enrollment load at the time of the campus disruption; and

c. Housing arrangements for Spring Semester 2020 (residing on campus, off campus or with parents.)

1. Be admitted as a regular student and enrolled as of the 10^th day of Spring 2021;
2. Have submitted a FAFSA for the 2020-2021 academic year and have a valid EFC below 12,670;
3. Have authorized direct deposit for refunds; and
4. Pass all U.S. Department of Education database matches and be determined eligible for Title IV aid.

7. Emergency Financial Aid Grant award amounts were pre-determined based on enrollment load as follows:

Priority groups for distribution are:

1. Students with exceptional need (first priority): Enrolled undergraduate and graduate students with EFCs in the Pell-eligible range and who have provided information to the University allowing for electronic transfer of funds.

2. On May 25, 2021 UW River Falls received supplemental funding under section 2003 in the amount of $6,298,064 for the express purpose of making Federal Stimulus Grants to students. Cumulative funding from HEERF 1, 2 and 3 totals $10,725,530.

3. As of September 30th, 2021 $1,356,080  in HEERF 3 funds were distributed to students.

4. As of September 30th, 2021 5,355 students met the eligibility requirements to receive funding under section 2003.

5. As of September 30^th, 2021 1,461 distinct students have received Emergency Financial Aid Grants under section 2003.

6. To receive a Federal Stimulus Grant, students must meet one of the following categories:

Be admitted as a regular student and enrolled as of the 10^th day of Fall 2021;

Have filed a FAFSA with an EFC of less than 5,713; or

Complete a Federal Stimulus Grant application.

Additionally, students who arranged to have their grants applied to past-due balances from prior semesters were allowed grants of up to $3,000. These students were then restricted to the balance of their $3,000 maximum grant for Fall semester 2021.

   On May 25, 2021 UW River Falls received supplemental funding authorized by the American Rescue Act of 2021 (ARP) section 2003 to make additional direct grants to assist with expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care tuition and fees (HEERF 3). Priority for funding will go to students with exceptional need, such as Pell Grant recipients. As of 03/31/2022, 96% of HEERF 3 funds have been disbursed to students.
    
2. On May 25, 2021 UW River Falls received supplemental funding under section 20034 in the amount of $6,298,064 for the express purpose of making Federal Stimulus Grants to students. Cumulative funding from HEERF 1, 2, and 3 totals $10,725,530.
    
3. As of March 31, 2022 $6,049,546 in HEERF 3 funds were distributed to students.
    
4. As of March 31, 2022 6,173 students met the eligibility requirements to receive funding under section 2003.
    
5. As of March 31, 2022 3,832 distinct students have received Emergency Financial Aid Grants under section 2003.
    
6. To receive a Federal Stimulus Grant, students must meet one of the following categories:
   a) Be admitted as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student and enrolled as of the 10th day of Fall 2021; or be admitted as a degree-seeking student for Spring 2022.
   b) Have filed a FAFSA with an EFC of less than 5,713; or
   c) Complete a Federal Stimulus Grant application or an institutional Emergency Grant/Loan application.
    
7. Students who first began attendance for 2021-22 in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 were awarded Federal Stimulus Grants based on enrollment load as follows:

   Additionally, students who arranged to have their grants applied to past-due balances from prior semesters were allowed grants of up to $3,000 to cover their past due balances.
   
   Students who were enrolled for purposes of auditing classes were eligible to receive the minimum amount of grant funding based on an application.
   
   Priority groups for distribution are:
   
   a) Students with exceptional need (first priority): Enrolled undergraduate and graduate students with EFCs in the Pell-eligible range.
   
   b) Students with self-reported need (second priority): Students who do not meet the exceptional need criteria but who demonstrate need for the grants by submitting an application identifying the expenses they are having difficulty meeting. The application may be the Federal Emergency Grant/Federal Stimulus Grant application, or the UWRF Emergency Grant/Loan application.

As required by Section 18004(e) of the CARES Act, P.L. No. 116-136 and section 314(e) of the CRRSA Act, P.L. 116-260.

1. On April 10^th, 2020 former Chancellor Dean Van Galen signed the Recipient’s Certification and Agreement – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act  UW River Falls is committed to providing no less than 50% of the funds received under section 18004(a)(1) in the form of direct grants to students to assist with expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and childcare related to the disruption of campus operations due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic (HEERF 1). By December 31, 2020 the full allocation of $2,213,733 in HEERF 1 funds received were distributed to students.

On January 19, 2021 UW River Falls received supplemental funding authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) section 314(a)(1) to make additional direct grants to students to assist with expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care, tuition and fees. (HEERF 2). Priority for funding went to students with exceptional need, such as Pell Grant recipients. By June 30^th, 2021 the full allocation of $2,213,733 in HEERF 2 funds had been distributed to students.
