UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
It is my honor to welcome you to our home page and to introduce you to many of the outstanding and innovative learning opportunities that are available in our thriving College. Our student-focused faculty and staff are truly dedicated to providing our diverse students with exceptional interdisciplinary programs and degrees in the creative arts, humanities, languages and literatures, social and behavior sciences, natural sciences, biomedical and health sciences, digital media technologies, pre-engineering, and mathematics—to name a few.
For a full list of the major and minor programs offered by the UWRF College of Arts and Sciences, please visit our complete list of academic programs here.
We believe that helping our students achieve a meaningful career – not just a “job” – after college is critically important. We also believe that a well-rounded liberal arts and sciences education most effectively equips our students with the knowledge and essential career and life skills that they will need to communicate clearly, question problems critically, think logically, engage collaboratively, and live ethically. These are the essential skills that employers say they value most in the workplace because they are the critical tools needed for lifelong success and adaptability in a world of complexity, uncertainty, and change.
As a College, our primary goal is to provide a well-rounded, interdisciplinary, integrated, and applied liberal arts and sciences education to each of our students. We strive to equip our students with essential skills necessary for successful lives, careers, and citizenship, preparing graduates to:
• Communicate clearly.
• Question critically.
• Think logically.
• Problem-solve systematically.
• Work collaboratively.
• Express themselves creatively.
• Live ethically.
• Value diversity.
• Engage interculturally.
• Act locally and globally.
• Embody service and leadership.
In the College of Arts and Sciences, we value and strive for a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in all that we do, as demonstrated through a community of mutual respect and appreciation of individual differences and rich cultural diversity, both from local and global communities.
We also embrace the infusion of proven high-impact teaching and learning practices into the educational experiences of each and every student, including but not limited to: first-year seminars, study away and study abroad experiences, undergraduate research and creative projects, internships and apprenticeships, academic service-learning projects, and senior capstone experiences.
As Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, I am honored to collaborate with my exceptional UW-River Falls colleagues as we strive to assist each student in succeeding as a well-rounded life-long learner who is truly prepared to excel and adapt in our continually changing world.
Please do not hesitate to contact me any time at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 715.425.3777 if you would like to discuss our many outstanding academic programs. I look forward to hearing from you!

“I have grown significantly as a journalist and as a person [while] attending UW-River Falls. The individualized faculty attention…has allowed me to excel in my reporting skills for a future career in media. The collaborative environment within my classes has also made me become better at receiving constructive criticism and utilizing perspectives and expertise.... This will be a key to success…and I’m thrilled to say that I accepted a job in my field prior to graduation from UWRF!”
