How to Apply

Applications received and postmarked on or before October 1 will be considered for the following spring semester.

Applications received and postmarked on or before February 1 will be considered for the following fall semester. 

You are encouraged to check your application status frequently by calling the Admissions Office at (715) 425-3500. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. 

To be considered for admission, an applicant must have a minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA. Applicants with GPAs lower than 2.75 will be considered in special circumstances. In addition, the following items must be submitted:

  1. Completed Online Application Form (apply here).
  2. Résumé.
  3. One letter of interest using this form.
  4. Three letters of recommendation.
  5. Official transcripts from all undergraduate schools attended (required) and graduate schools attended (if applicable).
  6. $56 application fee.
  7. Optional: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are not required but will be considered if the official forms are submitted.

Hard copies of items 2-5 above must be sent before October 1 or February 1 to the Admissions Office at the address below:

An Admissions Office representative will organize a file on your behalf with all mailed materials, along with a copy of your online application form. Final admission decisions are typically made within three weeks of the application deadline. Invited applicants are provided with a specific date by which to notify the program of their intentions. 

Note: The program faculty does not formally interview applicants. Prospective students are encouraged to contact Mark Gillen, program chair, or speak with a faculty member about the program.
