Art Education, Grades K-12

The Art curriculum recognizes the value and merits of both Western and non-Western art traditions and consideration of art at both local and international levels. Students are encouraged to consider their work in the context of a global society to bring about a foundation for understanding the impact that the arts has had on the evolution of the human experience; how it relates to the growth of various civilizations and cultures around the world, reflecting societal development as well as its application to the 21st century culture and diversity in an ever-shrinking global environment.

The Art Education program is a comprehensive broad area major preparing students in visual art and design for a K-12 license to teach art in public schools.
