Photograph Collections

The University Archives and Area Research Center (ARC) collections each hold thousands of photographs and other types of images, including daguerreotypes, tintypes, slides, and born digital. Some of these materials have been digitized and are viewable online at AtoM, the platform to search UWRF archival collections (does not include local histories and genealogies or newspapers on microfilm).

The photograph collection is organized by the following two sub-groups:

University Photographs

• Main collection of photographs of the university's history
• Digitized UWRF yearbook (Meletean), 1912-1969
• Special online exhibit, "History of UW-River Falls," in the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections (UWDC)
• Photographs of the Area Research Center's history 

ARC photographs

• Photographs are generally representative of the ARC 4-county regional area of interest: Burnett, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix Counties
• Search for photographs and images in our archival collections
• A small number of photographs from the ARC collections at UWRF may be found in the Wisconsin Historical Society visual materials collections.
