About Us

The Animal Welfare Lab at UW-River Falls was established thanks to generous funding from Oscar Mayer (part of The Kraft Heinz Company) in order to advance the development of animal welfare education and research. The partnership, started in 2014, named Dr. Kurt Vogel as the Kraft Foods/Oscar Mayer faculty scholar, supported the UWRF Animal Welfare Team and two new animal welfare courses - ANSC 115 Animal Welfare and ANSC 415 Quantitative Animal Welfare Assessment - and provided undergraduate internship and research opportunities.
