'Year of' Strategic Initiative at UW-River Falls

One of the three goals of the UW-River Falls Strategic Plan, Pathway to Distinction, is global education and engagement. In 2013, UW-River Falls initiated a "Year of" program to help meet that goal. The "Year of" program allows faculty, students, and community participants to break down stereotypes and connect across cultures. During the year, various educational and cultural activities highlight a specific country and engage faculty and staff,  students and others in raising awareness of that country. During 2013-14, UWRF celebrated the Year of Germany, while in 2014-15 the Year of China was celebrated and 2015-16 was the Year of Mexico. In 2016-17, UWRF celebrated the Year of Brazil, in 2017-18, the year of South Korea and in 2018-19, the Year of Canada. Please join us in celebrating these and other countries in years to come.
