In addition to providing UWRF faculty and students with a transformational learning environment, SciTech is being built with business and industry leaders and entrepreneurs foremost in mind.
The center will actively engage business and community partners in discovery, innovation and talent development at UW-River Falls. It will provide entrepreneurs and businesses access to spaces for making, discovering and cooperating in STEM fields and beyond, bringing together industry and university resources to support new business expansion and economic growth in the rapidly growing St. Croix Valley region.
Mission
The SciTech University and Business Collaboration Center (UBC2) actively engages business and community partners in discovery, innovation and talent development at UW-River Falls. The UBC2 offers students increased internship, research and career opportunities while providing employers facilitated access to student talent, as well as faculty and staff expertise. The UBC2 provides entrepreneurs and businesses access to spaces for making, discovering and cooperating in STEM fields and beyond, synergistically bringing together industry and university resources to support new business expansion and economic growth in the rapidly growing St. Croix Valley region.
Vision
The SciTech University and Business Collaboration Center (UBC2) at UW-River Falls is an exciting and vibrant resource where student talent and faculty and staff expertise combine with industry resources to create a major innovation hub in the regional economic development ecosystem. University-business collaborations through the UBC2 foster better outcomes for UW-River Falls students, offering numerous internship and research opportunities, fostering student leadership potential and maximizing student contributions in knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship. UWRF faculty, staff and students engage with the UBC2 business partners to successfully find solutions to local and global problems, catalyzing new multi-disciplinary programming and innovative, entrepreneurial partnerships.
