Ukraine/Russia history is focus of Nov. 8 lecture Oct. 18, 2022 - Thomas Wolfe, an associate professor in the University of Minnesota’s History Department, will present a lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on the timely topic of the “Crisis in Ukraine: War and Russia’s Deformed Transition.”
UWRF and DATCP launch Humane Handling Institute Oct. 21, 2022 - A first of its kind program, the Humane Handling Institute (HHI), will provide comprehensive hands-on training for current meat industry workers in humane pre-slaughter handling, transport, stunning, and equipment maintenance. The formation of the HHI was announced by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) on October 20. HHI is expected to help improve the long-term viability of Wisconsin’s $34 billion livestock and meat industries.
UWRF’s Caroline Baker recognized for leadership Oct. 31, 2022 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls Associate Professor, Department Chair and Counseling Program Director Caroline Baker was recently awarded the 2023 Wisconsin School Counselor Association’s Mary Gehrke-McAllister Leadership Award. The award recognizes professionals who have provided outstanding leadership within the school counseling profession in Wisconsin.
UW-River Falls inaugurates 20th chancellor Oct. 20, 2022 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will continue and expand its mission to offer students the education they need so they and their families can improve their lives through social mobility, as well as work on the critical issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, Maria Gallo pledged Thursday as she was inaugurated as the UWRF’s 20th chancellor.
