July 21, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin–River Falls has significantly expanded its fully online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, giving working professionals and aspiring leaders more ways to tailor their education and stand out in today’s competitive job market.
The newly developed track options allow students to build on the valuable core of a traditional, AACSB-accredited MBA while choosing from specialized tracks that align with their career goals. The program now includes five distinct tracks: agribusiness, healthcare analytics, business analytics, innovation and entrepreneurship, and strategic leadership.
“These new tracks give our students the best of both worlds,” said Leanne Van Allen, program director. “They begin with a strong foundation in business strategy, finance, leadership and decision making—the essentials of a great MBA—and then they have the option to go deeper in a focus area that’s meaningful to them, whether that’s leading in the ag sector, driving innovation or using data analytics to make better decisions.”
Students will complete the core MBA courses that develop leadership, critical thinking and strategic skills relevant across industries. They will then choose a track that lets them specialize, building targeted knowledge to tackle challenges and opportunities in their chosen field.
“At UWRF, we’re committed to making sure our students gain not just a degree, but a valuable, relevant set of skills they can put to work right away,” Van Allen said. “The track system is just one more way we’re delivering on that promise. We know our students are balancing busy careers and personal lives, so our goal is to keep this program flexible, practical and affordable.”
The UWRF MBA program is delivered 100% online, making it accessible to working professionals and adult learners. Small class sizes, engaged faculty and a strong community connection ensure students have the support they need to succeed. For those who want to build even more value, the MBA program also offers dual degree options combining the MBA with a Master of Science in business analytics or Master of Science in healthcare analytics. The program also offers stackable graduate certificates in areas like innovation, leadership and project management.
Applications for the new tracks are now open, with multiple start dates throughout the year. Prospective students are invited to learn more by attending a virtual information session with Van Allen at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29. Additional information sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 4 p.m. Email leanne.vanallen@uwrf.edu to register for any of the sesssions or to learn more about the UWRF MBA program or the new track offerings.
