Gallery 101 Opens Season with UWRF Alumni Exhibition
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Art Department opens the fall Gallery 101 exhibition season with the “UWRF Alumni Exhibition” Sept. 3-24. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
 
Great Lakes Career Readiness Initiative Funds Paid Internships at UW-River Falls
For the second straight year, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has received a Career Ready Internship Initiative grant from the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation. UW-River Falls uses the grant dollars to create new paid internships and turn previously unpaid internships into paid internships for juniors and seniors who don’t receive enough financial aid to cover college costs.
 
'Just Local' event at UW-River Falls emphasizes supporting local economy, volunteerism
A community event, Just Local, focusing on bringing people together to learn about the importance of being an engaged community member and supporting the local economy will be hosted by UW-River Falls on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. under the big tent on the University Center mall.

In July, UW-River Falls physics Professor Jim Madsen and physics Assistant Professor Surujhdeo Seunarine received two grants from the National Science Foundation totaling $589,877.
 
UW-River Falls to Prepare Math and Science Educators through Noyce Scholarship Program
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the University of Wisconsin-River Falls $299,617 under the Robert Noyce Scholarship Program. The prestigious grant will be used to create a new graduate certificate program that encourages and prepares science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professionals to become math and science educators in middle schools and high schools.
