'Just Local' Event at UW-River Falls Emphasizes Supporting Local Economy, Volunteerism

August 20, 2014--A community event, Just Local, focusing on bringing people together to learn about the importance of being an engaged community member and supporting the local economy will be hosted by UW-River Falls on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. under the big tent on the University Center mall. The event is free and open to the public. 

Participants can sample local foods and learn how local businesses and organizations meet everyday needs. Learn how to reduce your carbon footprint through eating local, buying local and utilizing alternative modes of transportation. Other highlights of the event include a free t-shirt, a thrifty fashion show, henna, and--new this year--butter aerobics.
