Ag Day on Campus set for April 10
April 8, 2025 - The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has deep roots in agriculture. As the agricultural industry changes and evolves, organizers of the annual Ag Day on Campus aim to celebrate not just accomplishments in the industry, but a longstanding passion for agriculture.
 
Commencement ceremonies set for May 10
April 30, 2025 - More than 650 students will receive their degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls during three spring Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 10. All three ceremonies will be held at Page Arena inside the Falcon Center, 185 Emogene Nelson Ave.
 
Exhibition features BFA Candidates
April 14, 2025 - Senior BFA candidates at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will showcase their Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibitions April 14 to May 2 in Gallery 101 in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. The free exhibition will feature ceramics, photography, video installations and – for the first time – a live performance art piece. The live performance is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 at 6:45 p.m. A closing reception for the exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, from 5-7:30 p.m.
 
Five decades later, UW-River Falls time capsule artifacts on display
April 22, 2025 - Community members are invited to peek at the past during an unveiling of items recovered from a time capsule buried at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls five decades ago.
 
Math professor receives 2025 Wisconsin Section Distinguished Mathematics Teaching Award
April 9, 2025 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls Mathematics Professor Erick Hofacker has received the 2025 Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Wisconsin Section Distinguished Teaching Award. The honor, which was awarded at the sectional meeting at UW-Platteville April 4, recognizes that mathematicians at the colleges and universities in Wisconsin place high importance on teaching.
 
Nine students honored with Chancellor's Award
April 24, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls presented its highest non-academic honor to nine students during the annual Chancellor’s Award for Students reception Wednesday. The award is the highest non-academic honor students can receive at the university.
 
Peterson named dean of College of Arts and Sciences
April 24, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has named Karl Peterson as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) after a national search. Peterson has served as interim dean since January.
 
School counseling open house April 21
April 9, 2025 - Individuals interested in a career in school counseling are invited to an open house for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls school counseling program on Monday, April 21, from 5- 6:30 p.m. in the Wyman Education Building, room 129, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls.
 
Superintendent certificate program now offered at UW-River Falls
April 14, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has launched a new superintendent certificate program, designed to equip educational leaders with the skills needed to excel in superintendent roles across the state and beyond. New enrollments are now being accepted for the July 2025 program start.
 
UW-River Falls earns 2024 Tree Campus USA recognition from Arbor Day Foundation
April 17, 2025 - The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as a 2024 Tree Campus for its dedication to enhancing community well-being through tree education, investment and community engagement.
 
UW-River Falls hosts successful Minnesota Writing and English Conference
April 25, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls English Department hosted the 2025 Minnesota Writing and English (MnWE) Conference in March, attracting over 100 faculty members and students from Minnesota and Wisconsin. The hybrid-format conference saw approximately 94% of participants attending in person.
 
UW-River Falls receives commercial smokehouse donation from Pro Smoker
April 3, 2025 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has received a generous donation of an advanced commercial smokehouse from Pro Smoker, a leader in smokehouse design and technology. The state-of-the-art equipment will significantly enhance the university’s research and educational capabilities in meat processing and technology in the on-campus Meat Plant.
 
UW-River Falls to host public panel discussion on the teaching profession
April 10, 2025 - A panel discussion at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls hopes to give insight into the teaching profession for those interested in the field. The university’s broad field social studies (BFSS) program will present the panel titled “What is the teaching job market like? What should I expect as a new teacher? How will my outside life change?” on Wednesday, April 16 from 4:45-6 p.m. in Wyman Education Building, room 118, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls.
