How to Apply

Applications received and postmarked on or before November 15, 2021, will be considered for the first EdD cohort beginning summer semester 2022.  Selections and notification will be made by December 1, 2021.  The selected candidates for the first cohort must accept their place and confirm by December 15, 2021 with the down payment  of $1,800 that will be applied to tuition. 

Following 2022, Applications received and postmarked on or before December 15  will be considered for the following summer semester. (Program Schedule and Curriculum)

Applicants are encouraged to check application status at Admissions Office at (715) 425-3500 or 

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

To be considered for admission, an applicant must have a minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA. Applicants with GPAs lower than 2.75 may be considered in special circumstances.

B.)  Attach a research/ scholarly or creative activity piece that demonstrates your writing ability.

  • We do not require an official ranking form, checklist, or waiver for letters of recommendation.
  • We encourage you to speak with letter writers about why you want a Doctorate in Montessori Studies and your potential research field of interest.
  • We look for evidence of academic skills, and/or skills in working with people.
  • We want to read about how you would be a good fit for leadership, research, and this program.

Official transcripts from attended graduate schools attended

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores within the last five years are required 

Hard/paper copy must be mailed directly from ETS to Graduate Admissions at the address above. UWRF school code is 1918.

SPECIAL: First cohort non-refundable deposit

Candidates who accept admission into this first cohort will be required to make a deposit (applicable towards tuition) of $1,800 by December 15, 2021. This will secure your place to start the EdD program online in May 2022 and attend the summer residency from June 20 - July 1, 2022, on the UWRF campus.
