Travel and Visitor Guidance

On-Campus Events and Meetings

It is once again possible to reserve campus spaces for in-person events and meetings that follow health and safety protocols. See the new Campus Reservations Guidelines document for further information and instructions.

Off-Campus Events and Travel

New information has been posted on the Falcons Forward website summarizing safe travel guidance for those authorized to travel or for those travelling for personal reasons, including what to do post-travel.

  • Non-essential university sponsored travel is permissible on an exception-only basis through June 30. To request an exception, fill out the Essential Travel Exception Request form. If approved, then visit Accounting Services for more information on travel arrangements.
  • Information on the approval processes for other off-campus activities and field trips can be found at University Sponsored Off-Campus Activities.
  • International travel continues to be strongly discouraged. If you do need to travel abroad, please review the CDC guidance regarding risks and country restrictions. The CDC is also now requiring proof of a negative COVID-19 test result or documented recovery from COVID-19 upon entry into the U.S. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 on campus in the past 90 days and need to travel internationally, please email contact.tracing@uwrf.edu to request documentation.
  • Student organizations need to use the form at go.uwrf.edu/orgevent to request approval for both on- and off-campus events.

Campus Visitors

Community members and other non-employee or non-student visitors to campus remain generally not allowed, however, some units have obtained authorization to resume hosting off-campus guests in specific circumstances. Departments wishing to invite external guests onto campus should submit a request through their division leader. All academic requests are undergoing initial review by Provost David Travis while non-academic requests are being reviewed by CBO Elizabeth Frueh. The chancellor and other operations experts are then consulted for input prior to a final determination being made. Recently approved exceptions include:

Falcon Center Community Access
Using a phased approach, community members will be welcomed back to Falcon Center for some rental opportunities and programming in small controlled groups that meet current gathering and occupancy limits.

Summer Camps and Conferences
Initial plans for some limited, strictly protocolled summer activities involving use of residence halls, campus dining and other campus spaces are underway. Careful planning will ensure that health and safety protocols that meet or exceed CDC recommendations are in place.
