UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Dear Instructional and Non-Instructional Academic Staff,
As the newly appointed chair of Academic Staff Council, I first want to take a moment to thank all of you for the dedication you demonstrate on a daily basis to UWRF: Our campus would not be the same without you. I also wanted to tell you about a few of the projects that we, as a Council, are working on this year: initiating an Academic Staff mentoring program, holding informational sessions called Lunch and Learns on topics of interest to Academic Staff, enacting our second annual appreciation event, revising our section of the handbook as necessary, and exploring other issues connected to Academic Staff on campus. We will also continue to work with the other governance groups—Faculty Senate and University Staff Senate—on key campus issues.
I look forward to working with all of you in the next year. Please feel free to use our newly established email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) to touch base with us :-)
On December 21st, members of the council met with Administration to discuss the feedback from the survey that was sent out in early December. We wanted to provide you all with a brief update of the discussion.
These were the four themes that were discussed:
The chancellor mentioned the themes were not surprising, as layoffs and reductions have created challenges for the campus community.
