UW-River Falls ramps up for its Annual Giving Day on April 8

March 25, 2022 -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Foundation’s annual Giving Day is Friday, April 8.

Each spring, the university holds its annual day of online giving to support the Falcon Annual Fund, an unrestricted fund to support the university’s most pressing and immediate needs.

Giving Day BadgeThis year’s theme is Welcome Back Home featuring a friendly competition between the East and West sides of campus, along with those who commute and those who did not attend the university but still support the Falcon community. This year will feature a Welcome Back Home Happy Hour at Junior’s Restaurant and Tap House, 414 Main St. S., River Falls, from 4-6 p.m. for the Falcon community. Anyone who has proof of donation will receive complimentary appetizers and half off a special UWRF-themed drink.

“Funds raised on Giving Day go to the Falcon Annual Fund to help fund the highest needs of our campus,” said annual giving manager Lindsey Nelson. “We appreciate your support on Giving Day as we work to meet the needs of today’s students and future Falcons.”

Tax-deductible contributions to the UWRF Foundation may be made at the Giving Day website at go.uwrf.edu/givingday.

New this year is the addition of multiple matching gifts which help donors’ dollars go further and double their impact.

Giving Day starts with a Chancellor’s Challenge at 8 a.m. where funds will be matched up to $1,000. Those donating during this time also have a chance to win tickets to a Falcon football game (VIP Suite) with Chancellor Maria Gallo.

Donations will also be doubled at 10 a.m. up to $2,000; noon, $3,000 match; 2 p.m., $2,000 match; at 4 p.m. there will be a $1,000 match for alumni from the past five years; and at 6 p.m., $1,000.
