UW-River Falls Foundation receives generous donation

September 25, 2018 - John Bryant “Bry” Wyman, M.D., a long-time supporter of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, has made a $168,700 gift to the UW-River Falls Foundation.

The gift will be used to support the Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Scholarship, an endowed fund established to honor Dr. Wyman’s parents. His father, Walker, was a long-time distinguished history professor at UWRF.  The Wyman Education Building on campus is named in his honor.

“Scholarship support continues to be a high priority for charitable giving at UW-River Falls, helping to ensure our students continued access to a UWRF education,” said Chancellor Dean Van Galen. “We are grateful that his most recent gift recognizes the critical need our students have for financial support, while also honoring his parents in such a meaningful way.”

Each year, the Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Scholarship supports a full-time art and history major entering their sophomore, junior or senior year who has demonstrated academic excellence.
