January 12, 2022 – University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor Maria Gallo provided the following statement regarding UW System Interim President Tommy Thompson’s resignation on March 18 which he announced last week.

“At UW-River Falls, President Tommy Thompson’s legacy will endure as a champion for meeting the needs of campus and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a voice for the future success of students, business and industry through his advocacy for UWRF’s Science and Technology Innovation Center (SciTech),” said Gallo. “We will miss his energy and authentic approach to engaging with students and employees.
