UWRF chancellor’s statement on Rothman selected as next UW System president

January 21, 2022 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor Maria Gallo provided the following statement regarding the selection of Jay O. “I want to congratulate Jay Rothman on his unanimous selection as the UW System president by the Board of Regents,” Gallo said. “I look forward to working with him, sharing the message of UWRF and strengthening the UW System for students and Wisconsin.”

Rothman begins his duties on June 1. Rothman will be UW System’s eighth president, succeeding current interim President Tommy Thompson, who has been in that role since July 1, 2020. Thompson has announced that he will step down on March 18.
