UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Aug. 26, 2011--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Art Department opens its fall Gallery 101 exhibition season on Sept. 9 with "UWRF Alumni Exhibition 1." The exhibition runs through Sept. 28.
The artists involved have developed successful art careers that involve commissions, national exhibitions, gallery representation, college teaching careers and international travel grant experiences. Media represented will be drawings, color photographs, paintings, ceramic sculptural vessels and mixed media sculpture. A number of the artists will be present to discuss their work at an opening reception Sept. 9 from 4-6 p.m.
Included in the exhibition are Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates David East of Baltimore, Md.; Brett Kallusky of Minneapolis; Lee Salminen of St. Paul, Joseph Smolinski of New Haven, Conn.; and Rhonda Willers of Elk Mound who is teaching Introduction to Clay and Introduction to Art at UWRF.
Gallery 101 is located in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on the UWRF campus. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Monday – Friday and 2-4 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, contact the UWRF Art Department at 715-425-3266.
