UW-River Falls Students to Provide Election Night Coverage

Oct. 26, 2012--On Tuesday, Nov. 6, students at UW-River Falls will provide the only election coverage and analysis focused on the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix Valley.  The broadcast will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Cable Access Channel 19, in the University Center on the UWRF campus, with live streaming online at http://go.uwrf.edu/Vote2K12.

The broadcast, Valley Vote 2K12, will provide expert local analysis, a fresh blend of college political activism and professional broadcasting, and updates on all the election races that are important to residents of the St. Croix Valley. The production will include live interviews with local candidates and the university's campus democrat and republican representatives. Analysis will be provided by former River Falls Mayor Don Richards and Special Assistant to the Chancellor and Legislative Liaison for UW-River Falls Blake Fry.

Pre-produced packages on the election will add to the mix, providing viewers both entertainment and information relevant to the event. The UWRF election coverage team consists of the UWRF Digital Film and Television class and student volunteers. Planning for the broadcast is being led by UWRF professors Jim Zimmerman and Erik Johnson.
