UW-River Falls Seeks 2011 Career Fair Exhibitors

July 7, 2011--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is seeking employer participation for the 20th Annual Career Fair to be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center on campus. This event was a recruiting opportunity for more than 80 organizations in 2010. 

In 2010, a student attendee stated, "I gained an invaluable experience speaking with professionals in my field of interest, gaining a better understanding of the jobs which are available to me, and learning to be proactive in the outcome of my own future."

This year's theme is "Where Preparation Meets Opportunity." The Career Fair gives students the opportunity to meet and network with potential employers and graduate school recruiters after all the hard work and preparation they have invested. 

UWRF Career Services has increased its efforts to prepare students for the Career Fair by enhancing the prep session that is offered two days before the event. The session now features hands-on stations for students to learn about and practice networking, conversing with recruiters, creating appropriate application materials, dressing professionally, and researching organizations.

UWRF has a reputation for offering quality academic programs in more than 45 degree areas within four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Professional Studies, the College of Agriculture, Environmental and Food Science and the AACSB accredited College of Business and Economics.

Career Fair registrations are on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum capacity of 90 booths. UWRF Career Services encourages interested parties to register as early as possible. Registration opens July 12 and costs $200 through Sept. 2 and $225 beginning Sept. 3. The registration deadline is Sept. 30.
