UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
November 19, 2021 – Six students were recently accepted into the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The McNair program prepares eligible scholars to pursue a graduate program following the completion of their undergraduate degree at UW-River Falls.
Students accepted were:
Josh Hassing, of Chisago City, Minn., is a junior majoring in chemistry. Hassing is interested in researching physical chemistry or orgnaic chemistry and plans to pursue a doctoral degree in medicinal chemistry after graduation.
Sidney Hyet, of Pensacola, Fla., is a junior majoring in chemistry-biochemistry. Hyet will be participating in the McNair Program’s Summer Research Institute this summer where he will work with mentor Biology Professor Timothy Lyden on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. After graduating, Hyet plans to pursue a doctoral degree in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Dylan Jensen, of Racine, is a junior majoring in neuroscience and psychology. He plans to pursue a doctoral degree in cognitive neuroscience after graduation.
Chayla Kuss, of Woodworth, N.D., is a junior majoring in animal science. She plans to pursue an advanced degree in reproductive physiology after graduation.
Izzy Rottier, of Stevens Point, is a sophomore majoring in communication sciences and disorders. Izzy is interested in researching cleft palette issues and autism-related effects in speech development. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders after graduation.
Abigail Wick-Lambert, of Racine, is a junior majoring in animal science and biology. Wick-Lambert participated in a Research Experiences for Undergraduates program at UW-Madison over the summer. Her goal is to get into a comparative biomedical sciences graduate program after she graduates from UW-River Falls.
