UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
July 18, 2014 -- Alumni from the University of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Technical Colleges are invited to stop by the Alumni Tent during Farm Technology Days, Aug. 12-14 in Portage County.
The Alumni Tent is sponsored by the agriculture programs at UW-Madison, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) and Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). Alumni are particularly encouraged to stop by at 1 p.m. each day of the three-day event for an alumni reception hosted jointly by the participating campuses. Each campus will have a display and representatives on hand at the tent to answer questions all day throughout the show.
Two campuses have notable anniversaries taking place this year. The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW-Madison is celebrating its quasquicentennial, or 125th anniversary, in 2014. The School of Agriculture at UW-Platteville is marking its 100th year.
Alumni should stop by to learn more about the activities each campus plans in commemoration of these milestones. UW-River Falls will be highlighting upcoming facility renovations in the dairy plant and on the farms. FVTC will highlight their new Precision Agriculture Technician program and Agriculture Career Day scheduled for October 21. The new Energy Education Center, which will house their agriculture programs, will be featured by CVTC.
The Alumni Tent can be found in the heart of Tent City, along 6th St. E near Wisconsin Ave., behind the Progress Pavilion. The hosts for this year are Blue Top Farms and Feltz Family Farms of Plover. For more information on this year's show, visit http://www.portagecountyfarmtech.com.
